PAINTLESS DENTREPAIR
Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is a technique designed to fix minor dents and dings without needing to repaint the vehicle. It’s all about preserving the original paint while repairing the damage.
Imagine you’ve got a small dent on your car door. Instead of sanding down the area and applying new paint, PDR focuses on gently manipulating the metal back into its original shape. Technicians use specialized tools to push out the dent from behind the panel. Since they’re working from the inside, the paint remains untouched, which helps maintain the car’s original finish and can often be done much quicker than traditional repair methods.
The process involves assessing the damage to ensure PDR is appropriate. It works best for small to medium dents where the paint is still intact. The repair is done by gaining access to the back of the panel (sometimes by removing interior parts or trim) and using a combination of pushing, pulling, and sometimes heating to smooth out the dent.
The result is a smooth, undisturbed surface that looks like new, without the need for repainting. It’s an efficient, less invasive method that’s often preferred for minor damage because it’s quicker and usually less expensive than conventional bodywork.
